Ever wondered why you have this lingering unwanted smell in your bathroom or ensuite that will not go away.
Look no further!
Causes of smell:
Combination of the waste pipes from the basin, bath, floor and shower with a trap in the middle that collects water that becomes stagnant, dumb idea isn’t it?
How to fix an unwanted smell in a bathroom or ensuite:
- The only way to effectively eliminate this problem (without continually putting smelling salts into the floor waste) is to run separate waste pipes from each of your amenities.
- This will eliminate the floor waste junction that always has waste water in it, that’s where the smell comes from!
Smells may also occur from basins and showers if they have not used regularly, this can cause water in the trap to become stagnant.
Here are the culprits, the combination floor and waste pipes, located in the middle of each photo.
